Charles Cauthen
Interim President

Charles was named Interim President of Jim Walter Homes in April 2005. He also serves as Senior Vice President, Controller of Walter Industries, Jim Walter Homes' parent company. Prior to being named Interim President, Charles worked with Jim Walter Homes as Executive Vice President of Operations. He was Interim President of Walter's U.S. Pipe subsidiary from April to August of 2004. Charles joined Walter Industries in 2000 from Bank of America, where he served as Chief Financial Officer and Controller for the Consumer Products Group. Prior to that, he served as Chief Financial Officer and Controller for Bank of America's Consumer Finance Division. From 1987 to 1997 he was with Barnett Banks, Inc., most recently serving as Director of Corporate Development and prior to that, Director of Corporate Accounting. From 1980 to 1987 Charles was with the Memphis, Tennessee, office of Deloitte & Touche, LLP. A Certified Public Accountant, he is a graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he earned a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting. In addition to his duties as Controller, Charles is in charge of merger and acquisition activity.
